[Men's Cross Country] Falland top collegian at Vanderbilt InvitationalPublished by
(Holland, Mich.) For the fourth time in the last five years, Cornerstone Alum, Zach Ripley won the Vanderbilt Cross Country Invitational. Ripley was joined by CU senior, Louis Falland for most of the race taking second. The two ran the first half of the 8 kilometer race under course record pace of 24:59 set by Ripely in 2010. Zach pulled away in the second half to in in 25:10. Falland's 25:39 was the top collegiate time and 48 seconds ahead of third. The Golden Eagles put four freshmen in their top seven, led by Brent Dunn's 27:57 in eleventh. Senior Jared Holmberg finished two seconds and one place back. Kevin Vroegh debuted in 28:18 for 18th while sophomore, Jacob Benson (28:36 / 22nd) worked with Zach Feldpausch (28:39 / 23rd). Trevor Curtis filled the seventh spot running 30:11 for 32nd. Adrian College put five in the top ten to win the team title with 30 points. Hope was second with 42 followed by Cornerstone's 61. Muskegon Community College finished fourth with 107.
