[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Green Earns Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Weekly HonorPublished by
Following the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open this past weekend, the Cornerstone women's track and field team received a conference weekly award. Sophomore multi-event specialist, Brittany Green, was honored for her results this past Friday. The announcement was made by the conference earlier this afternoon. Green's performance at the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open was a chance to test her fitness in the five events of the pentathlon. The native from Ohio won the long jump with a 18' 4.5" leap which improved on the NAIA National qualifying mark she posted one week earlier at Saginaw Valley State. In the shot put Green added 4' 8" to her previous indoor best with the attempt landing 38' 7.5". Brittany placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.24, cleared a person best of 4' 9.5", and ran for a 2:35.28 in the 800 meters. Following the day, the combined point value for Green totaled a pentathlon score of 3440, an improvement of 330 from her freshman year and well above the NAIA qualifying standard. Green and the rest of Cornerstone track and field team will compete next at Central Michigan University on January 11th. Read the full article at: www.cugoldeneagles.com
