[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Brittany s busy day brings new bests

Comments

(Hillsdale, Mich.) The track in the brand new Biermann Athletic Center at Hillsdale College proved to be fast as CU's Brittany Green ran personal bests in two events and added a provisional qualifying mark in a third.

After advancing easily through the 60 meter hurdle prelims, Green got back into the blocks for the next event, the 60 meter dash. Her PR of 8.03 made her the second seed for the finals. Immediately after placing fourth in the 60 meter hurdles finals in 9.28, an NAIA provisional qualifying time, Brittany raced to second in the 60 dash finals with another PR, 8.01.

Fifty minutes later the junior from Monclova, OH took eighth in the 200 meter dash, lowering her best to 27.01.

Julie Oosterhosue earned third in the mile, running 5:15.92 and Kaylee Carew took fourth in the 3,000 meters (11:02.12), leading a 4-7 Cornerstone finish ahead of CallyAnne Wyma (11:08.93), Cathy Coryell (11:11.07) and Leah Shepherd (11:19.46).

In field event action, freshman Gabby Reames took fifth in the pole vault, improving her best to 11' 1.75" and becoming the fourth CU woman to clear eleven feet. Haley Russell added a fifth place finish in the 20 pound weight throw, extending her best mark to 50' 1.75".

The Golden Eagles travel to Mt. Pleasant January 17 for the Jack Skoog Open hosted by Central Michigan University.
